Don't Pay for Free Information

It baffles me, online sites are charging for foreclosure info!

Recently I had an article come across my desk about those who are tricked into paying a fee for information that they could get for free. I couldn't believe it! I get foreclosure information for free. Not only do I get it for free but I give it to my clients for free.

In the past I have had people who purchased this information from these type of sites bring me the information they paid for. When they gave it to me I was amazed with how much of the info was incorrect.

Here is the complete article I came across. The article talks about how some people use deceptive online practices to trick buyers into paying monthly fees.

  1. There is so much info available why would anyone pay for it. Everyday I get solicitation for me to buy this or that and when I check it is free on the web. Amazing.

  2. Great post Dave. A lot of times buyers are just uninformed on what is outthere for them for free. Why pay?

    Remember the old saying, "there is a sucker born every day." It came about decades ago from scam artists, the scams have changed and evolved but the idea is the same. The scam artists prey on peoples wants, needs and desires and always find some one to scam.

    Nice post and thanks for bringing it to peoples attention.

  8. Utah Dave, That is absolutely right! We use it to our advantage by posting (at the top of our foreclosure page) don't pay so and so $49 a month to access these leads. Predators everywhere.

  9. Thats why you should always consult with a Realtor. With google out there I'm suprised anybody would pay for info without researching it first. Good post.
